Received this email from Scott Pape today, the Barefoot Investor. He suggests something so simple – I’m going to give it a go to give my mid year a re-start.
The other day I was chatting to my new neighbor who’d just moved in. Struggling with all the ’stuff’ he had accumulated and now had to [...]

Western Australia is a peculiar place. The people (generally) have strong views about the Eagles, Dockers, Ben Cousins (although this is become less apparent), political parties and…daylight saving. I’ve met only a few people who are sitting on the fence with this issue – the others, are strongly for or against it.
(sigh) Here are [...]

I like to consider myself one who would inclined to be independant. Of course, if its related to domestic duties of cleaning up my room, washing up after I’ve eaten, sweeping the floor etc., then I still need a helping hand with this domestic motivation.
The last 3 months have been quite hectic for myself. I [...]

Design & Demolition

In: Work

14 Dec 2008

This week was a landmark event for Red Meets Blue Design. Not only did we design like we always do, but we did some demolition as well. We now have one of the most unique workspaces to play with – an L shaped room with one side full of sun facing windows. Oh joy for [...]

Everything from accessibility to coding to design to [...]

A study in Sydney indicated that we (Australians) work longer hours than almost anyone else in the world. From what I’ve observed in my work place, this really doesn’t seem to be the case, unless you’re a manager or a director.
Perhaps it’s just me being alien to the wider work force of this country, but [...]

We recently used a web development team from India to help us out with some work that we had. We don’t make a habit of always using their services however we did notice the amount of Indians who responded to our job requests.
The outsourcing revolution is here. You’ll definitely notice it in the call centres [...]

Just reading this book – The Rules of Work by Richard Templar. Amazon.com: the rules of work.
Succinct, straight to the point, no nonsense approach to how one should be in the work place. Of course, being one of those ’secrets revealed’ books, it carries an air of superiority about it that feels so, oh I [...]
