In the second half of this decade, I’ve noticed something. Quite a few light hearted comedies use this. It’s called Futura. Well, the Futura font family. I’ve collected a bunch of movie posters online that portray this idea:

The Hot Chick (2004)

50 First Dates (2004) – although the ‘50′ looks like a Helvetica Neue Wide variant

Many things in this world interest me – some seen on this blog, but two subjects that do, are:

Generations and
Shaun Micallef

Odd mix there? What can the observation of culture and demographics have anything to do with a comedian? To my delight, the Ten network is launching a TV show called Talkin’ ’bout your Generation’ on [...]

Found this randomly on the net today

I’m not sure what to make of this, but if it’s anything to go by, it should generate a lot of media attention…in India. As it is a Bollywood feature, I’m not sure if most Australians will warm to it. With contrived lines like “…this is not a tennis [...]

In keeping in the mood of the news James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, here are my top 007 things I love about older James Bond films:

The 4:3 CCTV monitors – and their display of black and green ‘information’.
Computers that make noise every time something loads on screen
The way people die when they get shot. [...]

“Can I do that!?” I think this is the only thing I remember about Steve Urkel and Family Matters. What a great theme song. Could listen to it all day.

OK, this is going to be the last of my posts on Daniel Wu. I do look like him a bit (as seen in this Youtube clip). The first interviewee is him, and so the correlation between his face and mine is a too similar!

Well, had a Friday off this week, and decided to watch Cloverfield.
The whole movie is shot on amateur video camera to enhance the ‘realism’ of the plot.
It’s not a bad movie, but it left me frustrated at the end. I think it would’ve been more effective if they never saw the monster.

To me it didn’t [...]
